Arlene Adriaanse


Arlene Adriaanse has 18 years of experience in education. Having spent time as a programme designer and facilitator; Arlene designed material, project managed training initiatives, facilitated learning and coached call centre staff in the financial services arena for five years.

Then, as Regional Training Manager for a large private hospital group, Arlene's responsibilities included establishing the training function in the region, managing the training budget, designing a needs analysis process linked to the existing performance appraisal system.  She was also responsible for skills development including the annual workplace skills plans and training reports, as well as responsibility for the entire training process.

Arlene is the owner of Forefront Training, a black empowerment company accredited as a training provider by the Services SETA

Chipane Kgaphola

Chipane Kgaphola has more than 20 years experience in education, training and skills development.  He owns and manages Sego Consulting, an education and training consultancy.  Prior to opening Sego Consulting in 2004, he managed major skills development projects for TRANSNET at Esselenpark for several years and travelled throughout the continent of Africa conducting, monitoring and evaluating skills development programmes in railway operations, logistics and management.

Chipane has taught mathematics, biology, agriculture and science at high school level.   He has conducted research and has developed course material for SACHED Trust, PROTEC, TRANSNET and the Transport SETA, amongst others. He is an assessor and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc) from the University of Swaziland together with a Concurrent Diploma in Education (CDE). He subsequently obtained a postgraduate degree in education (B. Ed) from the University of the Witwatersrand.  He also completed the Management Advancement Programme at the Wits Business School.  He has also studied methodology for mathematics and science education at the University of Lancaster (UK) as well as De Anza College in California (US) and obtained a certificate in logistics management in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Ruben Richards


Ruben Richards has a wealth of experience in management and consulting in a range of environments - the public sector, quasi-government, including for the United Nations and in the private sector as the CEO of an engineering concern. In these roles he has been concerned with building ethical leadership and transformation. Ruben is a teacher and coach with a passion for people and giving them a safe space in which to explore their challenges and to explore opportunities for constructive problem solving.

Jennifer Johnson


Jennifer Johnson manages the media and communication aspects of Fiona Cameron Consulting's Country Conference services.  She worked with us on the ECDE & MDG conference that Fiona Cameron Consulting ran in 2012.

Born and educated in Johannesburg, Jennifer is a well qualified and highly experienced educationist who is passionate about teaching – both children and adults – in a range of media.  She moved out of mainstream teaching when she moved to McGregor where she is also involved in an education project for a charitable organisation and co-ordinating, marketing and managing the media for various events in the village.

Atholl Hay

Atholl Hay Atholl Hay is an independent NPO consultant and is the co-founder of the award-winning Jikezela Dance Project which provides music and dance classes for children from marginalised communities in the Western Cape.  After completing his BA in drama and psychology, he spent two years with Playwork (PACT’s educational theatre company) and during his 14 or so years with SAA was founder member of the in-house counselling support group which focussed mainly on substance abuse and HIV/Aids.


Born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, Atholl was an active member of the End Conscription Campaign and also holds an honours degree in psychology (cum laude) which he completed during his time with SAA.

Atholl moved to McGregor 2008, where he is also a massage therapist at Temenos and is actively involved in local initiatives including the protection of Krans Reserve, fundraising for Langeberg Steelband and BRAM Care and local theatre and cabaret productions.

Mira Weiner



Mira Weiner is Fiona’s virtual PA and marketing assistant and worked with us on the ECDE & MDG conference that Fiona Cameron Consulting ran in 2012.  Her day job is to manage the McGregor Tourism Bureau.  In addition, she is a member of the McGregor Heritage Society committee, responsible for communications and events, and offers after additional mathematics and English tutoring services to the local community.

Mira is a Unisa student, working towards a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management and Communication Science.
